Program Philosophy

Athletic Development

Every class has an element of pure athletic development scheduled in it because at these ages, athletic development will carry on a participant’s development further than sports-focused drills.

Character Development

Every class ends with Coach Zakariya’s famous Message of the Day where he imparts a message of internal development.

“Coach Zakariya is very professional and patient with kids. He understands their potential as well as limitations. He's a very good influence for his students in terms of character and social skills development as well. We find his Champ Athletics program very well suited for our son.”

Maria B.

“Coach Zakariya is an amazing athletics coach in addition to being an excellent mentor and role model for the kids. We've seen a huge improvement in our kids' league games since they started training with Champ Athletics. Highly recommend!”

Hammad H.

About the Instructor

Coach Zakariya is a youth athletic development coach who works with children ages 4–15, focusing on building strong movement foundations, confidence, and a love for physical activity. Each class ends with a “Message of the Day” — a short reflection that reinforces character, discipline, and respect — helping children grow not only athletically but also personally and morally.

Coach Zakariya is a proven athlete, able to jump into any sport, and successfully find a way to impact his team. Additionally, Zakariya is very clear with his larger purpose, his classes should take himself and all of his participants to a higher station and whatever is done in his classes should facilitate a better akhirah. He has received his tarbiya from Mufti Hussain Kamani, Shaykh Abdul Nasir Jangda, and Habib Umar bin Hafiz.

FAQs

What if my child is new to basketball?

1

That’s completely okay — many of our athletes are beginners.

CHAMP Athletics focuses on foundational athletic development, which means we teach the core skills every young athlete needs: coordination, balance, agility, ball control, and confidence.

Our sessions are structured to meet athletes at their current level while gradually building skill and understanding each week. We emphasize encouragement, effort, and proper technique — not pressure.

New players are welcome, and we love helping kids fall in love with something that can get them outdoors.

What happens if a training is canceled?

2

In the event of severe weather, facility issues, or coach illness, a session may be canceled. Because tuition reflects enrollment for the entire training program rather than payment per class, refunds or credits are not issued for occasional cancellations.
